After a month long of filming and editing, we have finally reached the end!!!
It has been a really exciting journey so far - we’ve met so many awesome Parkour practitioners who were so welcoming and willing to share with us their craft. In this post, we want to share some snippets of our most memorable experience - visiting Nachos, President of Parkour Singapore, at his gym.
What started out as a filming session became a full-on workout for ALL of us, and not just for Karuna, who was supposed to be filmed getting a one-on-one lesson from Nachos.
When we first stepped into his gym, we were blown away with how well furnished the place was. Fully padded floors, huge structures, poles, and also a graffiti wall created by visitors from all around the world.
We were excited to start filming but were not prepared for what was to come.
Ten minutes in, we were already exhausted.
Karuna’s two hour-long lesson started with shuttle run, followed by crawling around the gym. Nachos then taught her how to mount and dismount properly, how to climb walls and the list goes on...
Whereas for the rest of us, we were scrambling with our gear (tripods, boom mic etc...), trying to stay out of the camera’s frame while trying to get the best shots and clearest audio for the documentary. Whenever Nachos taught Karuna a new skill, we had to follow close behind- this meant that we had to also cross over the various structures with our gear!
The most exciting part of the night was Karuna balancing on a metal pole that was at least half-a-storey above ground.
It was scary even for the rest of us who were filming from the ground. Want to know what happened? Watch our video below!
