Having put ourselves in the shoes of competitive eaters, now it’s time for us to take a look into the life of a REAL competitive eater!
CeNsationalMoments is really honoured and thankful to have Zermatt Neo on-board with us for our documentary. A tall, good looking and fit young man with hot chocolate abs, who would have thought that he is a competitive eater? What’s more, he has managed to climb to be one of the top eaters in Singapore.
Zermatt explains: “Whenever you see me on videos and all, it’s like one of those very rare occasions throughout the week, so it takes up 20% of my time." Just like us, I believe many of you are wondering if it is true or not. People often wonder how competitive eaters stay lean and fit despite eating in huge bulks all the time. Our team thus took a few days to follow Zermatt in order to investigate how living as a competitive eater is like, with Hai En being the Private Investigator (P.I.) in our documentary. Let’s go and find out!
Other than that, being a competitive eater would require Zermatt to maintain his own social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to engage with his fans and to constantly post content. The way he earns comes from multiple means: online ad revenue, gigs, and food competitions. Do you think he is earning enough to make a living through competitive eating?
On 22 November 2017 at 12 midnight sharp, our documentary will be ready for viewing on our YouTube channel and on our Facebook page (@CeNsationalMoments), do watch our documentary to find out how each of them fared, as well as to gain a deeper insight into competitive eating and the life of Zermatt Neo which we have not covered here!
Hope you enjoy our documentary and consider taking on some food challenges! See you there~

Competitive Eating as a Career
Zermatt Neo is currently being managed under Food League SG, where his manager, Shawn, oversees his activities and condition. As a competitive eater, Zermatt is often invited to participate in gigs and competitions to help publicise local eateries.Other than that, being a competitive eater would require Zermatt to maintain his own social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to engage with his fans and to constantly post content. The way he earns comes from multiple means: online ad revenue, gigs, and food competitions. Do you think he is earning enough to make a living through competitive eating?
Gigs
Zermatt conduct weekly gigs, which are mostly happening on Wednesdays and Saturdays. These gigs often require him to eat in large amounts (e.g. 3kg of oyster omelette, 7 bowls of ramen), while Zermatt attempts to race against time to complete each challenge. This is probably less stressful for him as he is not required to compete with others. All he has to do is to complete the food given within the time limit as long as it is physically possible.
Competitive Eating Competitions
Last but not least, being a competitive eater definitely means entering competitive eating competitions. We had a chance to witness Zermatt’s eating skills REAL LIFE, his speed is amazing. We even got P.I. Hai En to compete with Zermatt in the competition to show the contrast between an amateur and a pro… Of course, congratulations to Zermatt who emerged as the winner! How many burgers do you think Hai En and Zermatt consumed? On 22 November 2017 at 12 midnight sharp, our documentary will be ready for viewing on our YouTube channel and on our Facebook page (@CeNsationalMoments), do watch our documentary to find out how each of them fared, as well as to gain a deeper insight into competitive eating and the life of Zermatt Neo which we have not covered here!
