On Friday September 22, the team (Group 4 of NM4883D: Francisca, Juliana, Alifa, Melissa Tam, Melissa Jen and Elgyn) headed to the Sliver IT Fest roadshow organised by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) to understand the seniors’ attitude towards a more digitally connected life and to find out what are some of the initiatives done by IMDA to encourage seniors to enjoy the benefits that IT can bring.
We chose to film with a DSLR, and recorded our audio using a zoom recorder and lapel mic as this was the combination we thought was best to capture medium shots and good consistent audio. In addition, we use a boom mic when filming the preamble and some b rolls to get clean and good audio of the whole event. Capturing clear interview audio and getting the right lighting were our main challenges when filming at the semi-outdoor event. The interviews went very well and we managed to get sufficient b rolls of varying angle and content. We decided to go for one of the Silver Infocomm Junctions classes after knowing about it from the event. Overall, we had fun filming our featurette. Most importantly, we learned how to help our seniors, especially our grandparents, in adopting new technologies in their life. (198 words)
